Terms and Conditions

South West Radon Pros Inc. · Protecting homes. Protecting health. · Last updated August 2026

These terms apply to the use of southwestradon.ca and to radon testing and mitigation services provided by South West Radon Pros Inc., operating as South West Radon. By using this site or requesting a quote you agree to them.

Build note, remove before go-live: these terms are a working draft written to satisfy the A2P 10DLC requirement for a linked terms page and to describe the service accurately. They are not legal advice. Have Phil's lawyer or insurer review the guarantee, liability and payment clauses before production launch.

Site inspections, quotes and pricing

  • We charge a $150 site inspection fee. The inspection is an educational on-site walkthrough with a C-NRPP certified professional: we assess the property, explain the options for your home, and provide a firm written price for any mitigation work.
  • The $150 is credited back in full against the cost of the mitigation if you proceed with the work with us.
  • The inspection is an assessment and an education. It is not a warranty, certification or guarantee of the condition of the building, and no promise or guarantee is made during the visit itself beyond the written price provided.
  • The price you agree to is the price you pay, unless you ask for additional work or we find a materially different condition than the one assessed, in which case we will tell you and re-quote before proceeding.
  • Written prices are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
  • Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

The mitigation guarantee

We guarantee that following installation of a radon mitigation system by us, the property will measure below 75 Bq/m3, confirmed by a post-install verification test.

Where a physical or regulatory restriction on the building prevents that level from being reached, the guarantee is instead to reduce the radon concentration to ALARA, as low as reasonably achievable for that structure. Where this applies we will identify the restriction and tell you before the work begins, not afterwards. If the verified result is not where it should be, we will make it right at no additional cost for the corrective work.

The guarantee is subject to reasonable conditions:

  • The system must remain powered, unaltered and unobstructed. Disconnecting the fan, blocking the vent, or modifying the system voids it.
  • Structural changes, renovations, or new openings in the foundation made after installation may change the result and are not covered.
  • Verification is by a test conducted to C-NRPP protocol. A short-term consumer kit is not the verification standard.
  • The guarantee covers the radon level achieved by our system. It is not a warranty of the building itself.

Radon testing

Radon measurement results describe the conditions in the property during the measurement period. Radon levels vary with season, weather, occupancy and ventilation. Health Canada recommends long-term testing over a minimum of 91 days during the heating season for the most reliable picture of your annual average. Short-term tests, including 48-hour real estate tests, are point-in-time measurements and are used where a transaction timeline requires one.

Scheduling, access and cancellation

  • You agree to provide safe access to the property, including the basement, mechanical areas and exterior, for assessment, installation and testing.
  • Please give us reasonable notice if you need to reschedule.
  • We will give you as much notice as we can if weather, supply or an emergency requires us to move an appointment.

Payment

  • Payment terms are set out in your written quote.
  • Work is complete when the system is installed and the post-install verification test has been performed and reported to you.

Communications and consent

If you tick the relevant boxes on our forms, you consent to be contacted about your enquiry. SMS consent is separate and optional, and it is never a condition of purchasing any service.
